Interpreting quotes - Read these lines from the story and explain each one's importance in a 5-7 sentence paragraph. Remember to use text support.

In this story, "The Old Man and the Sea" by Earnest Hemingway, this quote on page 48, No one should be alone in their old age, he thought. But it is unavoidable. expresses that you can't always think that things are going to be great and that you will never be alone. Think of it this way, on page 16 it stated that Santiago had lost his beloved wife, he couldn't of just avoided that in life and say that I don't want this to happen so it won't. That is what life is all about even if you are going to be alone make the most out of it because you can't control the way life is. Another example, is when he went out to the sea on his own on page 28. Santiago made the best of it and talked to himself and kept himself occupied to keep him from not being to alone. In conclusion, you can't always avoid the loneliness that life may throw at you, but you can always make the best of it, as Santiago did.
